With over 300 million people using Stories across Facebook and Messenger, Facebook has announced that it’s rolling out Facebook Stories Ads. Starting September 26, Facebook is now allowing advertisers to place ads on Stories as an additional placement to News Feed or Instagram Stories ad campaigns.

Stories ads support every objective available, including reach, brand awareness, video views, app install, conversion, traffic and lead generation. For performance marketers, stories ads can inspire people to take action based on the call to actions included in ads.

These full-screen vertical ads appear between Facebook user Stories for up to 15 seconds, or until the user dismisses the ad.

Video ratios: 1.91 to 9:16
For videos under 9:16: Colored gradient bars are rendered above and below. Content from the “Text” field is placed below the video.
File Size: 4GB Max
Length: 1 to 15 seconds
Captions: Not available
Sound: Optional
Video thumbnail images that consist of more than 20% text may experience reduced delivery.

Facebook Stories Image Ads Specs

These full-screen vertical ads appear between Facebook user Stories. Photo Stories are visible for 5 seconds or until the user swipes out of the story.

Image ratios: 1.91 to 9:16
Images that consist of more than 20% text may experience reduced delivery.
Technical Requirements
Minimum Image Width in Pixels: 600
Minimum Image Height in Pixels: 600
Aspect Ratio Tolerance: 3%
